TJ Callaway
Onward Reserve
Email: tj@onwardreserve.com

TJ Callaway has had an entrepreneurial drive for as long as he can remember. At age 11, when the 1996 Summer Olympic torch passed through his hometown of Thomasville, Georgia, he saw an opportunity to sell drinks and boiled peanuts to the gathering crowds. True to this entrepreneurial spirit, TJ now serves as the founder and CEO of Onward Reserve, an online and retail destination for lifestyle gifts and apparel. TJ attributes much of his success to the hands-on experiences he gained through the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.Today, as a donor and a member of the Metro Atlanta Young Alumni Leadership Council, TJ gives both his time and money to ensure that UGA students continue to have similar, eye-opening experiences.

TJ Callaway, originally from Thomasville, Georgia, left his investment banking job to establish Onward Reserve in 2012 in an effort to provide consumers with the best in lifestyle brands as well as up and coming collection. Onward Reserve’s identity is a bit of old-school masculine and a bit of Southern hospitality. The Buckhead store is festooned with deer heads and antlers – partly a nod to the neighborhood – and even a stuffed lion. You’ll be greeted warmly –even before they know you’re, say, a reporter — and if you’re thirsty, they’ll offer you a Coke or a beer. Callaway says his brand is a mix of preppy casual and outdoors-y practicality –that is authentic and true to itself. “It’s kind of me,” Callaway says of the Onward Reserve brand identity. “It’s a store for what I want… I like to fish. I like to hunt… I’m kind of a weekend warrior on a lot of fronts.”

Color of Heat
Email: colorofheat@gmail.com
Color of Heat is designed by Kat Whatley, a 2017 graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, (FIT) in NYC. Kat is passionate about art and design and draws her inspiration from over decade of living and studying in the Middle and Far East. Color of Heat was a happy accident; born in 2013 when the family traveled to Northern Thailand, the same day Kat was first notified of her acceptance to FIT to study fashion design. What started as an adventure with her two parents, eager to learn more about Thai textiles and the clothing manufacturing industry in Thailand, turned into the beginning of many years of work with talented Thai artisans and seamstresses.

In 2018 Color of Heat began working with Thai Village--a non-profit vocational training and employment organization committed improving quality of life for those in need. We partner with Thai Village to produce ALL of our reHeat line of products, and more. We especially love Thai Village's focus on job training, finance education, and respect for the dignity of their workers. Through this relationship we are able to offer meaningful work to Northern Thai women, each with their own individual story, helping them to become more economically self-sufficient.

Kempt Athens
Email: team@kemptathens.com

Kempt is a modern men’s clothing store started by UGA fashion merchandising grad Ryder Chosewood. The store features a variety of styles from small batch brands, Made in USA goods, and local Georgia designers. Offering elevated basics, trend-forward denim, and quality accessories, Kempt aims to meet the needs of the Classic City guy. In Kempt, you'll find the newest styles in menswear on the shelf next to Oma's sewing machine from 1928. In the fashion industry, there's a pendulum swing, where old becomes new and decades-old styles become trend-worthy again. You'll find a curated collection, mixing the classic with the brand new. Trendsetting California surf brands, but also the kind of stuff your great grandpa might have worn that is still timeless now. There's red and black for when all of the Classic City is honoring its traditions by ringing the bell, and there are shiny bar tools to use while you mix a whole lot of whiskey with a little bit of something else. the store is the contrast of a few styles, a few ideas.

“When creating this company, I thought about the millions of Latinas in the country that did not have a platform that exemplified their beauty, vibrancy, and diversity in the jewelry market today. This initiative enabled myself to build an online store that catered to this underrepresented, growing demographic. Through Americana Jewels, we convey diversity and individually with every piece we handmake to provide options for women who want to express themselves creatively through their own style. You don’t have to be Latina to shop Americana Jewels, but believe in our mission to help uplift each other through our differences and similarities. I hope every one of my Chicxs Americanas finds a way to express their uniqueness and diverse backgrounds through our products.” -Jennifer Lopez
