Although our hearts are heavy, as Couture a la Cart’s selling season comes to a close, the Couture a la Cart team is ecstatic because all of our hard work has paid off! The team started this journey in the most difficult of times, due to the nationwide pandemic, and had to adjust their whole selling strategy to make ends meet. But we have prevailed and are happy to report that Couture a la Cart has attained and surpassed its goals! Everyone on this amazing team played a very pivotal role in the success of Couture a la Cart, but we couldn’t have done it without the guidance of our professor, and fearless leader, Dr. Clair Mcclure and our General Manger Julia Jack!

As this is a unique semester, we had to take on advertisement costs from the spring semester because the business was unable to move forward with planned pop-up store dates due to the pandemic. Each student has their own role on a team – planning, management, merchandising or creative – to help run the business. For the first time, Couture a la Cart will sell merchandise using an online platform instead of mobile pop-up shops all over campus. The online store will feature products – such as clothes, skin care products, jewelry and accessories – from local Athens vendors and UGA students. The online store launched Oct 9 and will be available until Oct 30 and customers will also have the option to either pick up orders or have them shipped, so get these amazing products while you can!!
